Gloria Copeland’s New Book “Put Your Words to Work”

I am posting some of Gloria’s Copeland’s new book.  I have already posted the website.  Please scroll down and see the first post.  Then go to kcm.org   and either request the hard copy or download immediately the digital copy.  You won’t want to miss this opportunity.  Watching our words is as important (well almost) as putting food in our bodies to survive and be healthy.  It is a devotional and has 31 days to give you a daily dose of the Word of God for our speech.  Here is her introduction.  Enjoy.

Introduction

31 Days to Changing Your Life!
When Ken and I turned our words around, we turned our lives around. But we didn’t turn our mouths around until we filled our hearts with God’s Word.
That was more than 45 years ago, and we’re still filling our hearts with God’s Word and speaking it out of our mouths. It’s a principle from God’s Word that will never change.
When we turned our mouths around, Ken was just getting started in ministry. We couldn’t afford for me to go with him to meetings, so I was home with our children. I didn’t have any money to spend, so I didn’t go shopping. I didn’t have any real distractions, so when I wasn’t taking care of the house (think small house!) and the children, I was in the Word. I listened to reel-to-reel tapes and took notes—so many that I almost wrote down entire tapes! I was in revival all by myself. When Ken would call home, I’d just preach to him, and he’d preach to me.
One day, as I sat there listening to a tape by Kenneth E. Hagin, he referenced Mark 11:23 saying, “That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith” (King James Version). Instantly, I saw what the Lord was saying.
He spoke to me: In consistency lies the power. The scripture said, “but shall believe that those things which he saith.” The key was not the thing a person says as a single request, but those things he continually says.
When Ken called home the next time, I started preaching. He had seen it in the Word as well. We saw that our words were bringing to pass in our lives what we had right then. We saw that if we wanted to change our lives—change the lack, change our finances, change our home—we would have to change our words and start saying continually what God’s Word says about us and our situation.
That was so long ago, but it has been the key to our walking in the faith of God all these years.
In the consistency of speaking right words lies the power of God to deliver you. Your words, based on God’s Word, open the door to abundant life. That was the revelation God was speaking to me, and He’s speaking it to you today.
If you want a change in your life, you have to make a change. Changing your words is the best place to start. What you and I say day in and day out is what will come to pass in our lives. We have to set ourselves to speak words that are of God, that are what we want to come to pass in our lives. To release faith, we have to have confidence that our words will come to pass.
When Ken and I realized this, we made some extreme changes. We agreed that we were no longer going to speak any words except those we wanted to come to pass. We agreed to quit talking about lack, defeat, sickness and disease. And we started talking the Word of God regarding healing, abundance and well-being. We chose to talk faith words, and our lives turned around. We could see change instantly. It took us 11 months to get out of debt. We could see improvement as soon as we turned our mouths around.
We had to work at it and help each other. If one of us said something we didn’t want to come to pass, the other one would say, “That’s your confession and I’m in agreement with it.” We did that to help each other hear what we were carelessly saying. That sounds extreme, but it really helped us change what we were speaking. It made us conscious of what was coming out of our mouths.
As believers we are to live our spiritual lives on the offensive side, not on the defensive side. We shouldn’t be just reacting to what the devil does, we should be applying pressure  on him by obeying the Word, walking in faith, and speaking right words out of our mouths.  For you to succeed in life, the Word has to be in two places, in your heart and in your mouth. The Word that is alive in you is the Word that talks to you. When you’re in a hard place, what’s inside you is what will come out. If you’ve put the Word in there, it will come out of your mouth and deliver you.
This book is designed to help you turn your mouth around. It’s designed to help you renew your mind—and consequently your mouth—to speak the power of God into your life…to speak what you really want to come to pass.
I’ve heard it takes practicing something 21 days to make a habit. Well, I’m giving you 31. By reading and meditating on each day’s message in this book, you can change the wrong habits you have developed of speaking wrong words—and the Lord will help you!
If you get to the end of 31 days and you’re still having trouble keeping your words in line, just start over. Read and re-read every day until your mouth is speaking God’s words of life, abundance, health, joy, prosperity, faith, promotion, peace and everything else you really want in your life.
The bottom line is, if you’ll keep your words obedient to God’s Word, you’ll come out on top every time.
So get started. Make a commitment to yourself and to God to read each day’s message and act on it, and in 31 days, I  believe your life will be changed for the better!
